About the artist…

In 2012, Shoecraft began to play and practice the original songs of Jacob Baughman and Zack Thayer with accompaniment from Dane Hibbard (bass) and Rachel Casel (vocals). The harmony -based folk group met on a weekly basis at Hibbard's cabin on Lake Shoecraft in Standwood, Washington (the lake they would eventually be named after). Years prior, many of the members had played together in various church settings. With faith being a significant part of their lives, Shoecraft's lyrical content has consistently addressed conversations of spirituality by way of storytelling. Inspiration was primarily found for them in the natural beauty of Washington state and the musical styles of Dry The River, Ben Howard, Andy Hull, Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver.
